Presenting the Conceptual Model of Commercialization of Knowledge in Iran's Higher Education System

Abstract :
Preparing the required contexts for the commercialization of knowledge, while harmonizing domestic universities with international missions, can play a momentous role in creating economic and social values. The present research aimed to offer a model of knowledge commercialization in the country's higher education system. The current study was applied in terms of its purpose and descriptive in terms of its method. The statistical population comprised 10,153 faculty members of the Islamic Azad University of Tehran. 371 people had been selected as samples using the relative stratified sampling method, based on Cochran's formula. A researcher-made questionnaire with 121 questions was used to collect data. The reliability of the questionnaire was evaluated by Cronbach's alpha coefficient of 0.802 and validity of the questionnaire were confirmed by experts. Regarding the normality of the data distribution, parametric tests and structural equations, and SPSS and Smart PLS software were used to analyze the data. While confirming the importance and desirability of all dimensions, the findings of the current research were prioritized as follows: In the dimensions section: the mental characteristics of knowledge creators with a coefficient of 0.939, the characteristics of created knowledge with a coefficient of 0.918, the characteristics of knowledge consumers with a coefficient of 0.917, knowledge type with a coefficient of 0.911, environmental factors with a coefficient of 0.891 and organizational structure with a coefficient of 0.884 were ranked from the first to the sixth priority, respectively. Likewise, regarding the results of the research, the dimensions of the mental characteristics of the knowledge creators, the component of specialized knowledge, and the indicator of belief in the goodness of knowledge had been placed as the first priority of each level, which should be considered in plans related to commercialization. The validity of model was also analyzed with the method of structural equations and 4 dimensions (understanding, adaptation, generalization, and control), which was confirmed by good fit and high average.
