Abstract :

Naming among humans, whether it is the name of objects or the name of children, is one of the most complex issues that has an interesting and surprising destiny in history. Looking at this issue among the culture and literature of nations, we see that various issues can be involved in naming, for example, the first human being is called "Adam" in religious teachings. Among the Kurds, naming also has the same fate in terms of etymology. Sometimes the culture that prevails over the Kurdish culture can influence this naming, and sometimes there are factors among the Kurds themselves that influence the naming. The results of this research, which was carried out in a descriptive-analytical method using library sources, indicate that the history of human names among the Kurds has three stages before Islam, after Islam until the First World War, and finally from the First War to has now In addition, in the Kurdish language and some other languages, the names that are used for males have the meaning of bravery, strength, bravery, and bravery, but the names that are used for female mean: beauty, purity, tenderness, and thinness.
