    The ethical policy of the Journal of Space and Place Studies is based on the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines and complies with this legislation.

    • Papers submitted for publication should describe high quality original work, not previously partially or fully published elsewhere neither in Farsi nor in any other languages. Furthermore, they must not be published or under consideration for publication elsewhere.
    • The authors should prepare the articles in a coherent and scientific manner, in accordance with the journal standard. In addition, mention explicitly their method, approach and report the data.
    • Authors should respect the rights of others in their articles; by specifying the corresponding author and mentioning the names of all colleagues. In addition the citation to all sources which used in manuscript must be evinced completely. ( Direct citation must be put in “” and indirect citation or data retrieved from others’ research must be cited.)
    • The authors must avoid expressing sensitive, immoral, personal, racial or religious themes. In addition, they are not allowed to submit the papers which are incorrect or inaccurate information and translations of the other article without referring to the article.
    • The author might be asked to evince and demonstrate raw data, interviews or questionnaires and other research tools.
    • According to COPE; simultaneously, submitting one paper to several journals or confirming published articles are not accepted. This would be a plagiarism which will be reported to the Ministry of Science.

    All rights are reserved for articles of the Journal of Space and Place Studies. It is notified to mention the exact citation to the Journal of Space and Place Studies. Journal of Space and Place Studies authors are not permitted to submit their paper which has been published in this journal in another journal and the right to prosecution for Journal of Space and Place Studies is reserved. If one of the Journal of Space and Place Studies paper has been published in the collection book of articles, it needs to be referred to the Journal of Space and Place Studies. Otherwise, the Journal of Space and Place Studies would litigate this criminal action.

    The ethical policy of the journal is based on the COPE guidelines for publication ethics and complies with the International Committee of the journal editorial board codes of conduct. Readers, authors, reviewers and editors should follow these ethical policies once working with the Journal of Space and Place Studies.     Some of the most highlighted principles of the journal ethical policy are as follows:

    -Authors must be obliged not to send their articles to another journal simultaneously and nor to resend their past published papers.

    Copyright policy

    Journal of Space and Place Studies is an open access journal under a Creative Commons Attribution license 4.0 and makes its content freely accessible. Journal of Space and Place Studies articles follow the copyright policy. Addressing the information included in the articles to the journal source would be acceptable.

    Authors transfer copyright to the publisher as part of a journal publishing agreement that means by submitting the article to this journal, the author agrees to grant the journal an exclusive right to publish the submission but retain the privilege to:

    -Share their article for Personal Use, Internal Institutional Use and Scholarly Sharing purposes, with an appropriate link to the Journal of Space and Place Studies.

    -Retain patent, trademark and other intellectual property rights (including research data).

    -Proper attribution and credit for the published work.

    -The writer whose article is published on the Journal of Space and Place Studies is not permitted to publish the same article on another publication due to the Journal prosecution policy.

    • If an author of an article published on the Journal of Space and Place Studies, attends to publish his/her article in a book or conference proceeding, it has to be referred to the Journal of Space and Place Studies publications; otherwise, the journal can proceed to the prosecution.
    • If an author discovers an important mistake or inaccuracy in his/her own work, he/she is obliged to promptly inform the editor of the journal and cooperate to review and enhanced detailed information to correct the article. If the author or publisher finds that the published work has a significant material error, the author is obliged to promptly review and correct the article or provide evidence to the editor, verifying the accuracy of the original sources, or the main article.
    • Author, who submits the article to the journal, should send a copy of the document to his/her colleagues and make them agree to submit the article to the journal and publish.
    • Authors expect to be quick and appropriate in revising the article.
    • All authors are ultimately responsible for the content of the article submitted to the journal.

    Plagiarism:

    All of the authors will be notified about their manuscript submission to the Journal of Space and Place Studies through a confirmation e-mail. Obviously, inclusion of the name and affiliation of authors in a paper denotes their key role in preparation of the submitted manuscript. In the event that the mentioned authors have not been involved in preparation of the paper and their name is abused, they should immediately inform the journal office about the raised issue through e-mail. All the authors shall be responsible for the originality of their work, and the journal shall have the inclusive right of plagiarism checking.

    Plagiarism may occur in the forms of:

    1. Submitting others’ paper under your own name;
    2. Copying or repeating some parts of other papers (including the newly published one of the authors);
    3. Presenting the results of other researches under your own name;
    4. Repetitive submission of the same paper with the same author(s) in several journals;
    5. Presenting faulty results contradicting the scientific findings or distorting the results of research;
    6. Application of invalid data or manipulation of the research data.

    Double Blinded Reviewing

    A “double blinded reviewing” process is followed in Journal of Space and Place Studies, in which the reviewers remain to be unknown to the authors and, in return, the authors would not reveal their identity to the reviewers to contribute to the blinded procedure reviewing. Therefore, they must not openly mention the name of reviewers who have already reviewed a paper and commented on it. The authors are not expected to disseminate their submitted manuscript via the websites.
