Identifying the Factors to Improve the Performance of Sports Federations in the Country Based on Organizational Transparency

Abstract :
The purpose of this research was to investigate how to improve the performance of sports federations in the country by identifying and explaining the factors affecting organizational transparency. The research is applied in terms of purpose and qualitative in terms of research strategy, utilizing the data approach of the Glazer Foundation. The statistical population of the qualitative part of the research includes experts in sports management (professors and sports managers) with experience in clarification. Sampling continued until theoretical saturation was reached (16 people), and it was done in a non-random and purposeful manner. Initially, semi-structured interviews were conducted with experts to determine the factors. Sampling continued until theoretical saturation, and then the data from the interviews were coded and analyzed using Spazial, Strabert, and Carpenter methods. The coding process involved three stages: open coding, selective coding, and selective coding. The results of coding the data obtained from the interviews included 118 initial codes, which were summarized into 41 codes and categorized into 10 categories. The research findings revealed that the main categories for improving the performance of sports federations based on transparency are: information and technology management, lack of concealment, accountability, employee participation, organizational whistle-blowing, ethical values, combating administrative corruption, responsibility and monitorability, decision-making, and organizational control. Additionally, the model for enhancing the performance of federations based on transparency is well-suited.
