Abstract :
Considering the variables of stable psychological characteristics on perceived stress levels and our understanding of possible risk and protective factors for perceived stress can help people. The aim of this research was to predict the perception of stress based on perceived social support and metacognitive beliefs with the mediation of cognitive flexibility of fathers of Corona survivors. Based on the type of correlation and multi-stage random sampling, a sample of 200 students was selected from the statistical population of students in the Islamic Azad Universities of Tehran province in 2022-2023. The tools for measuring the variables were: perceived stress questionnaire (PSS, 1994), cognitive flexibility questionnaire (CFI, 2010), perceived social support standard questionnaire (MSPSS, 1988) and metacognitive beliefs questionnaire (MCQ, 2006) that were admidFnistered to the students. The data showed that the path coefficient between perceived social support, metacognitive beliefs and cognitive flexibility on stress perception in the model were significant. The value of the standard beta coefficient between two variables is -0.442. The main path coefficient between social support and cognitive flexibility is equal to 0.08 and is not significant at the 0.05 level. The indirect coefficient of social support on perceived stress through cognitive flexibility variable is equal to -0.035 and is not statistically significant. The general model fits the experimental data. Predicting the perceived stress during the covid-19 era by considering the psychological characteristics showed that the covid-19 crisis was a stressful experience among the participants and helped with protective factors for mental health.
