Examining the allegorical effects and themes of the good life based on Martin Seligman's perspective in Bostan and Golestan Saadi

Abstract :

Parables are brief and gentle words with very deep content, in which the essence of human experiences is hidden in a compact form. Therefore, parables are considered to be clear examples of "Khairu al-Kalam ma qal' wa dall'", "a few words and a lot of meaning". Poets and writers have used an allegorical approach to express their goals. Saadi Shirazi also tries to convey the message to the audience by using parables. The purpose of the research is to carefully investigate the allegorical effects of the good life from Martin Seligman's point of view in Bostan and Golestan Saadi. This article has been done in a library style and through surveying in a descriptive-analytical way in Saadi's Bostan and Golestan, and an attempt has been made to answer the question that the manifestations of a good life from Seligman's point of view in Bostan and What role and symbolic allegorical position does Golestan Saadi have? The results show that according to Seligman's theory and his virtues, Saadi's approach in reforming society is based on empathy and helping each other, which he expressed by using allegory. The characters of his stories are all positive, hopeful for the future, spirited, happy, eager for life, happy and happy.
