Abstract :
The sustainability of organizations is a function of the performance of policy-maker and operational human resource. This study aimed to sustainable improvement of the organization's performance through green human resource management (GHRM) and increasing the positive impact of the basic strategies of GHRM on the organizational sustainability (OS) through the environmental performance (EP) in government organizations. The accuracy of the conceptual model was assessed based on the information obtained from 264 survey questionnaires received from senior managers, human resource managers, and quality control managers of governmental organizations. Drawing and modeling of structural equations were performed in the SMRT PLSV4 software environment. The findings of the study showed positive and significant effects of GHRM practices (green recruitment and selection, green training and development, green performance management and appraisal and green reward and compensation) on OS. Also, this study empirically confirmed the significant mediating role of EP between GHRM practices and OS. Therefore, it is suggested to pay more attention to these components to stabilize the EP of organizations. The GHRM has been a deterrent to harmful environmental decisions and actions. The classification of the existing literature based on strategic choice theory and the attribution model that shows GHRM practices play a crucial role in improving EP and organizational sustainability.
