Investigating the Holland personality and job fit theory and its relationship with performance of employees of Iran Porcelain Industries Company

Abstract :
The aim of this study is to investigate the compliance of personality types of employees working in Iran Porcelain Industries Company (ICC) with the Holland personality and job fit theory and the effect of this adaptation on their efficiency. The research method is applied in terms of purpose and descriptive in nature from the correlation branch. Research data was collected by two questionnaires and also informations from ICC staff records. First standard questionnaire used to determine personality type. The second authors made questionnaire is related to performance of staff. The statistical population includes a part of 115 employees of ICC, of which 87 people were selected using Cochran's formula. The validity of the questionnaires were confirmed with experts and the reliability were confirmed with 0.806 and 0.846 Cronbach's alpha coefficient for personality and job fit questionnaire and performance questionnaire respectively. The normality of data distribution was evaluated by Shapiro-Wilk test and for data analysis and hypothesis testing, one-sample t-test and Pearson correlation test were used. The results showed that the adaptation of jobs among employees of ICC in terms of the Holland personality and job fit theory has been done at an acceptable level. Also, the results of correlation test showed that there is a positive and significant relationship between the fit of personality with the job environment and employee efficiency. In the sub-findings, a significant, positive and relatively strong relationship was observed between the job-personality fit and performance in daring and conventional personality types.
