Compilation and validation of the social responsibility model of Shiraz secondary school principals

Abstract :
Introduction: Education, like other organizations, is trying to maintain social interests. The purpose of the current research was to design and validate the social responsibility model of secondary school principals in Shiraz.
research methodology: The present research is classified in the "exploratory mixed research" group in terms of how to collect the required data. In the qualitative part, thematic analysis was used to analyze the data, and in the quantitative part, the structural equation model was used. The participants in the qualitative section included experts and professors in the field of educational sciences and education managers of Shiraz city. The sampling method in this section was selected in a targeted manner with the criterion technique and based on theoretical saturation. The statistical population included all principals of secondary schools in Shiraz city and the sampling method was stratified random. Based on the statistical population of the research, 384 middle school principals of Shiraz city were selected as the statistical sample of the research.
Findings: The research findings showed that after analyzing the interviews, 89 basic themes and 23 organizing themes were identified. Based on this, the social responsibility of schools includes altruistic and humanitarian responsibilities, legal responsibilities, social responsibilities, environmental responsibilities, and professional responsibilities. In order to validate the qualitative findings, the Delphi method was used. In the second round, all 89 indicators were confirmed. Therefore, the components listed in the last table were selected as the selected components of the model in the Delphi method. Based on the research findings, the variables of social responsibility of schools including altruistic and humanitarian responsibilities, legal responsibilities, social responsibilities, environmental responsibilities and professional responsibilities have a significant effect on the social responsibility of school administrators at the level of (0.01). In the current study, the absolute fit index of GOF was 0.51 for the tested model, and the value obtained for this fit index indicates the appropriate fit of the tested model.
