Abstract :
The purpose of the study was to investigate and compare value system of principals and teachers as well as the dimensions of their value system based on Schwartz's fundamental values theory. To this end, A sample of 327 Principals and teachers was selected using stratified random method in the academic year 2009 – 2010. For data gathering, Schwartz Value Survey was used and its reliability was between 0/36 and 0/76 and its validity was 0/74. Data analysis (ANOVA) indicated that the value system of principals and teachers was similar it included dimensions of benevolence, universalism, security, self-direction, tradition, power, conformity, achievement, stimulation and hedonism. There was a significant difference between these dimensions at 0/0001. Furthermore, the results of two-way ANOVA showed that there was no significant difference between dimensions of value system of principals and teachers in terms of variables of gender, academic levels and year of experience
