Psychological and counseling needs assessment of parents of first year high school students with the aim of preparing an educational and practical package

Abstract :
Knowledge and awareness are the precursors of any appropriate decision and effective action. Based on this, a comprehensive and continuous understanding of parents' counseling needs facilitates, accelerates and makes counseling services more effective.The current research was conducted with the aim of assessing the psychological and counseling needs of parents of first year high school students in order to prepare an educational and practical package.This research is qualitative in terms of method.the research sample in the first stage includes: theoretical foundations and related research articles, and the second stage includes: 30 available parents until saturation. Analysis method: from the inductive type of the data obtained from the study of the above texts are coded in the form of open, categorical and theoretical codes using the content analysis method. The findings showed. The most important counseling needs of parents are in four general components ,respectively:psychological-social/psychological-emotional/cognitive-educational/moral-spiritual needs. Conclusion:As practical suggestions, this package can provide counseling services for parents, as well as student progress, to respond to their needs appropriately.
