A Study on the effects of teaching critical thinking on university students’ achievements

Abstract :
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of teaching critical thinking on university students’ achievement. The statistical population consisted of 559 students who failed in one academic term out of which 84 students were chosen by randomize sampling . Correlation methods , according to pre-test, test, and post-test were one-way variation analysis and t student test. The result gained are as follows: (a) There is a meaningful correlation between the test (teaching critical thinking) and the students’ critical thinking improvement; (b) there is a meaningful correlation between the test and the students’ academic achievement; (c) There is no meaningful correlation between the sex and academic field of studies and the test.
