Conceptualizing Rational, Natural and Open System Approaches to Classroom Management: A framework for Research and Development

Abstract :

The classroom is where direct services are offered to students so that they grow and develop socially and personally, and thereby through which a ground will be provided for all aspects of the community development. What is helpful in such development quality is classroom management, the characteristics and the types of which affect learning-teaching process and ultimately the development of society. Hence, this study aimed to first review the concept of classroom management and then describe different types of classroom management through three systems approaches; rational, natural and open, and finally compare them to each other. This comparison was made based on classroom, curriculum planning, teaching, teacher – learner role, effectiveness and efficiency dimensions. The output of this work could provide an objective view concerning different types of classroom management from the perspective of three approaches of classroom management system; rational, natural and open; in addition to that it could offer a primary basis for field and practical research and development in the arena of subject.
