Self Impression Management and Organizational Justice: Successful Players or Successful Managers ?

Abstract :
The purpose of this research is to investigate the relationship between self impression management of managers and organizational Justice . The statistical population of the research consists of all high schools’ principals and teachers of Khorram Abad City in the academic year of 2010 – 2011 and the research sample includes 49 principals and 245 high school teachers. The method of research has been descriptive. In order to investigate organizational Justice, the researchers used Niehoove and Moorman (1993) questionnaire which has twenty items, and measures three dimensions of organizational Justice (distributive, Procedural and Interactional), and in order to measure theself impression management, Wayne and Ferriss's (1990) questionnaire which has 24 items and measure three dimensions of the variable (Job – Supervisor – Self Focused ) was used. Results of this research showed that the usage of Impression Management, self focused and Job focused, is more than the average, whereas focus on male supervisors is more than females. However, there is a significant difference between impression management, Job focused and self focused, among of male and females supervisors. Distributional Justice is below the average; organizational Justice and interactional Justice greater than the average, and; interactional Justice is equal to the average. Also, there is a positive and significant relationship between impression management and organizational justice and its dimensions.
