Investigating the Relationship between Personality Characteristics of Knowledge Workers and Their Organizational Silence in Shoals of Maskan Bank of South East of Tehran

Abstract :
Review:The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between personality traits of knowledge workers and their organizational silence in Meshkan Branches in south east of Tehran. The statistical population consists of all 489 knowledge workers. 215 people were selected based on stratified sampling method. In order to measure the variables used in the research, two standard Personality Characteristics Neo (1973) and Standard Organizational Silence Questionnaire (Vendine et al., 2003) were used. The research method is descriptive correlational. The content validity of the questionnaires has been approved by the experts and the supervisor. The reliability of the questionnaires based on Cronbach's alpha coefficient was 0.89 for personality traits, 0.87, organizational silence. For analyzing, descriptive statistics and inferential statistics (Pearson correlation, stepwise regression) were used. The findings showed that there is a significant relationship between personality traits (psychoanalytic, extraversion, consistency, conscientiousness and flexibility) with organizational silence. For this relationship, the relationship between neuroticism and consistency with positive organizational silence is negative for other dimensions of personality traits.
