Investigating factors affecting the intent to stay in nursing work in the first two years after graduation in hospital of universities Medical Sciences in Tehran in 2017-2018

Abstract :
AbstractBackground: The shortage of nursing workforce in the health care system affects the prevention of diseases and health promotion in many countries. Therefore, managers should prevented to increase the number of graduates or to keep workforce and increase their job satisfaction in order to prevent the quality of health care due to lack of nursing staff.Objective: The purpose of this study was to investigate effective factors in preserving nursing occupation in the first two years after graduation from the perspective of employed nurses.Methods& Materials: This research is a cross-sectional descriptive study. The research community of all nurses has been planning a study of at least one year in the same hospital. The total of 362 nurses in the hospitals, 349 nurses participated in this study. This study was conducted in accordance with moral standards of cholera The Ethics Committee has been licensed. The study tool is a study of the research questionnaire.RESULTS: Most of the research units (53.75%) were not intent to stay of their job after finishing their plan. The most important factors affecting their decision to stay in the job are: the amount of salary, rewards and benefits received, attention to shifts, the family's positive attitude toward continuing nursing and the proper relationship between head nurse and physician.Conclusion: Management to maintain graduate forces can correct by creating an empathic communication atmosphere. Nursing education should provide programs to increase students' ability . Also, top management officials should to increase the income of nursing groups.
