Identifying the Drivers and Barriers of Mobile Learning

Abstract :
The present study was conducted with the aim of identifying the drivers and barriers of mobile learning. This research is applied in terms of purpose and descriptive-survey in terms of data collection method. The statistical population consisted of all postgraduate students at Islamic Azad University, Bandar Abbas Branch (N = 2300). Using simple random sampling, a sample of 330 students was selected.Data were collected through a researcher-made questionnaire with 36 items covering the components of mobile learning drivers and barriers. Data analysis was carried out using LISREL 8.5. The validity of the instrument was confirmed through content and construct validity, as all factor loadings exceeded 0.40, indicating acceptable construct validity. The reliability was assessed using Cronbach’s alpha, and the results showed a satisfactory level of internal consistency.Findings revealed that the main drivers of mobile learning included the learner dimension (0.91), social dimension (0.92), interactive dimension (0.91), and device usability (0.88). In contrast, the identified barriers comprised the human factor (0.70), pedagogical issues (0.85), leadership and management (0.94), technological challenges (0.94), economic limitations (0.89), and attitudes (0.84). The structural model fit indices confirmed that the proposed model had a good fit, validating the structural credibility of the identified drivers and barriers in the field of mobile learning
