Abstract :
This survey was carried out with the purpose of identifying the predictive role of academic self - regulation on internet addiction in order to help to design effective preventive interventions with the mediating role of academic resilience. This survey uses descriptive-analytical method on the basis of modeling structural equations. 300 students of Farhangian University in North Khurasan who were studying in the academic year 2019-2020 were selected by random sampling, and replied to the Young (1998) internet addiction questionnaire, Magno (2010) self-design questionnaire, and Samuels academic resilience (2004). Face validity and content validity of the questionnaires were approved by professors and their reliability was achieved by Cronbach alpha as respectively (0.91, 0.91 & 0.79). Descriptive statistical method, regression analysis, and structural equations were used for data analysis. Evaluation of the hypothetical model of research by the use of fit indexes (CFI=.91, PCFI=.74, GFI=.92, and RMSEA=.075) showed that the survey has good fit index, and that academic resilience has a mediating role in the relationship between academic self- regulation and internet addiction. Also, academic self- regulation and academic resilience have negative significant relationship with internet addiction with respective ratios of (-0.25 and -0.38).
