Designing a visionary leadership model based on an Islamic approach in the educational system

Abstract :
Purpose: This research was conducted with the aim of designing a visionary leadership model based on an Islamic approach in the educational system.
Method: The present research is an applied research in terms of its purpose and is qualitative in terms of data type using the content analysis approach. The statistical population includes 12 professors of educational sciences and educational management at Karaj universities from 2016 to 2023 as experts. The sampling method was purposive sampling. Although the data reached theoretical saturation from the tenth interview onwards, 12 interviews were conducted in order to ensure the completeness of the data. The data collection tool was a semi-structured interview, with questions designed based on the different components of the model, according to the strategy used. Regarding the reliability of the interviews, during the classification of the interviews, paying attention to the percentages reported by two coders is a method to determine the reliability of the analysis. In the current study, test-retest reliability (consistency index) was used to calculate the reliability of the interviews conducted.
Findings: After analyzing the interviews, 158 codes were extracted as initial codes and then by putting the corresponding extracted codes together, the main concepts were identified. Based on this, 25 concepts were identified and finally all the inferred concepts were placed in 5 main categories: strategic management, individual characteristics and skills, problem solving, human resource empowerment and infrastructure.
Conclusion: Senior education managers at macro levels should move away from the political atmosphere and any relationship-oriented environment, using comprehensive criteria and according to educational goals, to adopt a visionary leadership style in order to create achievable visions and mobilize forces to achieve them.
