Abstract :
Gender gaps in workplaces are influenced by many factors, including long-term structural barriers, socio-economic and technological developments, as well as economic shocks. Therefore, without studying and investigating the factors affecting gender discrimination, it will be impossible to advance different investment policies regarding the fight against gender discrimination. In this regard, Ross (2008) in a study reports a negative correlation between oil production and women's representation in the workforce and politics across countries. Therefore, following Ross's study, this article examines and estimates the relationship between oil income and gender discrimination. In this regard, we confirm that oil income reduces the presence of women. Therefore, in this study, in order to achieve the research objectives, a research model has been estimated, the results of which using the fixed effects model have indicated that the main independent variable of the research, i.e. oil income, has a positive and significant effect on gender discrimination.
