Abstract :
Genetically modified (GM) products, as one of the most significant achievements of biotechnology, play a vital role in enhancing food security and improving agricultural productivity. Nevertheless, supportive and restrictive government policies have a considerable impact on the success of these technologies. This article provides a comparative analysis of the policies of Iran, India, and China regarding GM products. The findings indicate that despite scientific advancements and the enactment of the National Biosafety Law, Iran has not yet been able to achieve commercial production of these products due to a lack of implementation infrastructure and social concerns. India, although successful in the large-scale cultivation of GM cotton, faces challenges in the commercialization of other GM products due to social and political pressures. China, while extensively supporting research and development through government policies, has adopted a cautious approach to the commercialization of GM food products. The results of this study suggest that a combination of targeted supportive policies and effective management of social concerns is key to the successful development and acceptance of GM products in the countries under review.
