Image rhetoric with content clothing in Rumi’s ghazal’s

Abstract :

The tapic of this article is the examination of how Rumi uses imagery related to clothing in his works.

Clothing items, being tangible and visible phenomena that cover the body or part of it as something hidden, align with Rumi’s way of thinking, which is based on the contrast between the outward and the unseen. They embody aspects of his mystical thoughts.

In this short piece, almost all references to clothing from Rumi’s ghazal’s have been extracted and categorized. However, onhy those refernces that contribute to creating a poetic and my stical image have been examined.

The research information was gathered using the library research method and analyzed wing qualitative research techniques. The results of the study show that all the discussed images serve to express Rumi’s mystical thoughts.

 Furthermore, the use of various rhetorical devices indicates that clothing is sometimes used to make ideas tangible and sometimes to expand meanings and suggest the uncertainity of meaning.
