Abstract :
The purpose of the present study is a descriptive study of personality traits and character dimensions with justification of extramarital relationships mediated by the use of virtual social networks in counseling clients in Miandoab city. This study is descriptive in terms of purpose and was conducted as a survey. The sampling method was convenience sampling, with the total population of Miandoab city being 130,000 people, which was calculated and obtained as 384 people using the Cochran formula. The data collection tool was the Cloninger Personality and Character Questionnaire, Justification of Extramarital Relationships, and researcher-made questionnaire. The results of the Spearman correlation test show that there is an inverse correlation between the two variables of personality nature and justification of extramarital affairs. the intensity of the correlation between the two variables is weak and inverse. Data analysis using Spearman correlation shows that the dimensions of personality nature and character are simultaneously justifiable on extramarital affairs, and the use of virtual social networks increases this issue, and the independent variables (components of self-direction, perseverance, cooperation, and dependency reward), the use of virtual social networks, the nature dimension, and the character dimension have the greatest reinforcing effect against the independent variables (components of vulnerability, novelty seeking, self-processing), and the dimensions of nature and character have a simultaneously weakening effect on the justification of extramarital affairs. That is, strengthening them leads to weakening the justification of extramarital affairs.
