Abstract :
The aim of the present study was to investigate The Relationship between Dark personality traits and Cyber aggression; Mediating Impulsivity and Maladaptive Emotion Regulation. The descriptive-correlation research method was path analysis. The research population was made up of all the students of Tabriz University in 2023-2024, of which 390 people were selected as a sample using a multi-stage cluster random sampling method. Research tools include dark personality traits questionnaire by Johnson and Webster (2010), impulsivity questionnaire (BIS-11) by Barrett (1995), short form of cognitive emotion regulation questionnaire (CERQ) by Garnowski and Kraich (2006) and cyber. Aggression Questionnaire (CYBA) by Garcia et al. (2016). To analyze the research data, path analysis method was used using Spss26 and Amos24 software. The findings showed that the direct effect of Machiavellianism, narcissism and antisociality on cyber aggression was significant (P<0.01). Also, the results showed that the indirect effect of Machiavellianism through impulsivity (P < 0.01) and maladaptive emotional regulation (P < 0.05) and the indirect effect of narcissism (P < 0.01) through maladaptive emotional regulation on cyber aggression are significant. Was the fit indices showed that the final model has a good fit. It is concluded that impulsivity and maladaptive emotion regulation can play a role in the influence of dark personality traits, especially Machiavellianism and narcissism, on cyber aggression. According to these findings, it is possible to understand the mediation of impulsivity and maladaptive emotion regulation and help to reduce cyber aggression by teaching behavior control and adaptive emotion regulation.
