Abstract :
It is obvious that Goethe, the celebrated German poet, has been inspired by Hafiz, and so for numerous articles have been published in this regard. Here the significant point to deal with is the influence of other great Persian poets on Goethe. Adam Olearius, an envoy of Schleswig-Holstein's court to Safavid court in Estefan, translated Golistan of Sa'di more than a century before Hammer Purgstall's translation of Diwan of Hafiz. Olearius' translation influenced not only Goethe but also many other German poets and authors. Such impressions have sometime, like Hafiz's lyric poems, influenced the poetic imagery of Goethe, and sometime a German poet uses Sa'di's writings exactly. The aim of the present article is to remind some of the characteristics used in Goethe's works as well as significance of German translation of Sa'di's Golistan.
