Abstract :
Effect of salicylic acid(50, 100 and 200 mg/L-1) with sucrose 8% as pulse treatment(48hr) and nanosilver with 5ppm concentration and distillate water as continuous treatment (preservative solution) on Gerbera cut flowerwere studied. Traits such as longevity, relative fresh weight, solution uptake, total soluble solid, anthocyaninecontent of petals and activity of catalase and superoxide dismutase enzymes in petal in certain days wereevaluated and via statistically analyzed. Results revealed that pulse treatment of salicylic acid with 200 mg/L-1concentration with sucrose 8% and preservative solution with nanosilver 5 ppm significantly increases solutionuptake, relative fresh weight and quality of cut flowers. Also this treatment increases anthocyanine content ofpetals and total soluble solid of flower stem. Activity of catalase and super oxide dismutase enzymes in alltreatment contrast with control showed decrease activity with lower rate. Vase life of Gerbera cut flowers in alltreatments regard to control significantly increases.
