Effect of Different Levels of Dietary Guanidinoacetic Acid Supplementation on Carcass Traits, Some Blood Bichemical, Liver Enzyme Activiies, Intestinal Microbial Population and Morphology in Broiler Japanese Quails

Abstract :
In order to investigate the effect of different levels of Guanidinoacetic acid supplementation supplemneted diets on carcass traits, some blood bichemical and liver enzyme activiies, morphology, intestinal microbial population in broiler Japanese quails, 288 Japanese quails aged 1-35 days with 4 experimental treatments including the control group and those consuming Guanidinoacetic acid at levels of 0.5 and 1 and 1.5 g/kg of standard feed was used with 6 repetitions and 12 pieces of quail in each repetition. At the end of the period (35 days), after killing two quails from each repetition, the cracar traits, blood bichemicals and the liver enzymes activity indices such as alkaline phosphatase (ALP), alanine transaminase (ALT) and aspartate transaminase (AST) were investigated. Additionally, the morphology and intestinal microbial population were examined. The results showed that the Guanidinoacetic acid supplementation supplemented diets caused a significant increase in the thigh, wing, breast and abdominal fat wieght.the result showd that cholestrol, triglycirdie and LDL serum content has decreased and HDL content has increased significantly (p ≤ 0.05). in current study the significant improvement of the liver enzyemes activity has been assayed (p ≤ 0.05). The significant increase of beneficial microbial flora of Lactobacillus and decrease of the colony population of Escherichia coli and Salmonella enterica in the intestine along with the increase in the surface of the villi and the density of the number of goblet cells indicated the beneficial effects of the Guanidinoacetic acid supplementation used in improving the health status of quails (p ≤ 0.05).In conclusion we could demonestare that the benefits of Guanidinoacetic acid supplementation on carcass traits, some blood biochemical, intestinal morphology and intestinal microbial flora in broiler Japanese quails.
