The present article aims to study the rhythms in Azeri-Turkish Manzumeh of Asli & Karam. Since it was an oral history, it was conveyed chest to chest by the words of Azeri Ashiqs from generation to generation. By studying the rhythm of poems in Manzumeh Asli & Karam, it is evident that the poems of this Manzumeh have a stress-syllabic rhythm which is explained based on Metrical Stress Theory of Hyes (1981). The rhythm of poems is not based on the equality of syllables; it is based on pauses which are repeated at regular intervals from syllables. These poems are classified in two forms: Ghoshma and Gerayli. Their most rhythmic syllabic chain is in the form of Ghoshma 4+4+3 in which pair colons are as symmetrical 2+2. The most rhythmic chain of stress units is included in Gerayeli 4+4 which has two symmetrical colons. Manuscript profile

This paper has strived to study the factors involved in the maintenance or shift of local languages in Iran. From among these factors, ‘language attitudes’ and ‘language choice’ have been discussed, for these two interrelated factors, due to their flexibility nature, seem to be the direct side-effects of the other involved factors. In other words, speakers’ positive or negative attitudes toward their native language and consequently choosing or not choosing their language in needed situations depend on the orientation of the factors involved in the maintenance or shift of that language. Hence, in the present paper, language attitudes and language choice have been separately discussed and following the language choice discussion, the phenomena of language maintenance and shift have been raised. In the following, some of the studies conducted in the field of local languages’ maintenance and shift, both in and out of Iran, have been cited considering the involvement of language attitudes, language choice, and the other involved factors. In the final section, following the conclusion attained from the discussions in the previous sections, the gradual process of the loss of local languages in Iran due to the involvement of some factors and specifically the involvement of Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) Corporation and Ministry of Education has been warned. Dialogue is one the most essential contributing factors in the formation of plays and stories by which the real character and personality of the heroes can be revealed. Dialogue indicates a step above and a transition from selfishness, one-sidedness, and cautiousness. It denotes understanding and realization of the presence of the other, tolerance and forbearance, simplicity, and lastly liberty and democracy. Dialogue is based on participation and understanding of the other. Hojabr sultan couplet narrative, an epic-couplet narrative poem that leads to tragedy, is a biography of Asadullah Khan Bavand known as Hojabr Soltan , the youngest son of Ismail Khan Bavand Savadku’i known as Amir Mu’ayyad . This Persian-Mazandarani couplet exhibits the verse -refrain structure. The popular literature (accent, saturation, musical instrument and general singer) has been composed by omitted or short lilt based on prosody rules. . This study tries to investigate different methods of dialogue employed in the narrative of Hojabr Sultan and other common poetic cycles of Savadkouh, through a descriptive-analytical approach. Accordingly, those dialogues integrated with bluster, rhetoric, punishment, deterring, pride, bragged to others as well as contemplating others, have been guided in this narrative couplet. This couplet narrative poem seems to be the unique one among other Persian-Mazandarani couplets.   Manuscript profile
