Investigating causal relationships of development dimensions of Iran's Higher Education System with future research approach

Abstract :
The general purpose of the present study was to investigate the causal relationships between the development criteria of Iran's higher education system and the futures research approach. In terms of purpose, this research is an application that was done with a mixed approach (qualitative and quantitative) with the exploratory design. The statistical population of the study consisted of faculty members and experts of the Future Research Panel and staff of Islamic Azad Universities in Region 3 of the country in the quantitative and qualitative sections of 20 people and 5878 people. In the qualitative part of the purposive sampling method, 15 people and in the quantitative part by stratified random sampling method and based on Cochran's formula, 361 people were selected as the sample. According to the results, two strategic and structural criteria were identified with coefficients of 0.958 and 0.917, respectively. Also for strategic criteria, 5 sub-criteria of knowledge management (0.923), knowledge commercialization (0.904), internationalization (0.863), university strategy (0.822) and research talent identification (0.811) and for the structural criterion, 5 sub-criteria of financial resources (0.825), futuristic organizational culture (0.810), university infrastructure (0.798), agile organizational structure (0.760) and university independence (0.756) was identified.
