Abstract :
Illnesses of asthma, Irritable Bowel Syndrome and migraine are psychosomatic disorders that nowadays are nominated psycho-physiologic disorders. These illnesses have not been recognized completely. But it is apparent that psychological factors are effective in all of them. The aim of the present research was to compare the dimensions of perfectionism and intolerance of uncertainty in patients with asthma, IBS and migraine. The sample consisted of 120subjects in four groups: Those who were diagnosed as asthma, IBS and migraine (per 30 subjects) selected from psychiatric, respiratory and gastrointestinal disease clinics in Tehran, and a non-patient group (30 subjects). The participants completed the Dimensions of perfectionism inventory of Hewitt and Fleet and Intolerance of Uncertainty scale of Buher & Dugas. Results showed that the difference of perfectionism mean was significant in patient group. And the difference was significant for intolerance of uncertainty mean (α = 0/ 01). The IBS and migraine groups had higher mean in perfectionism and intolerance of uncertainty.
