Validation of Creative Deviance Model at the National Iranian Oil Company

Abstract :
Purpose: The main goal of this research is to validation of creative deviance model at the National Iranian Oil Company. In such companies, it seems that creative deviance is the only factor that can lead to creativity and this is less empirically investigated. Method: This research is descriptive and correlation. In order to collect data, a questionnaire with 84 items was used. For distribution, first, stratified sampling and then available sampling was used in the seven main managements of the National Iranian Oil Company consisted of almost 452 personnel. After collecting data, we the model and tested the hypotheses through the PLS algorithm. Finding: Fit indices in different section indicate that model reliability is desirable and all assumptions are approved. Results: The causal conditions of creative deviance (organizational and managerial component) have a positive and significant effect on the formation of structural pressure and creative deviance can be one of the significant strategies for this structural pressure. The individual’s personality characteristics and the idea characteristics (context conditions) and management, organizational and individuals’ biographical conditions (intervening conditions) also identified as the factors affecting the development of creative deviance. Finally, these behaviors have a positive and significant effect on creating positive and negative consequences on individual and organizational levels.
