Abstract :
The purpose of this research was to design and validation of situational judgment test of strategic mindset of managers of Iran Alloy Steel Company. This research was applied in terms of purpose and descriptive in terms of data analysis. The research sample included 196 subjects (for exploratory factor analysis and reliability) and 210 separate subjects (and convergent validity) from the managerial ranks of Iran Alloy Steel Company, who were selected by stratified sampling method. In order to design the questions and answer options of the test, the opinions of subject matter experts were used, and the validity of the test was investigated using exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis, correlation analysis and reliability analysis in SPSS and LISRER software. Eveidence of the validity of Situational Judgment Test of Strategic Mindset in the exploratory factor analysis with principal components method and varimax rotation, as expected, suggested a structure based on three subscales. Confirmatory factor analysis showed that these factors explain 58% of the variance of the total scores, and Cronbach's alpha coefficients for each of the components and the total scale were above 0.7 Also, the convergent validity of the test showed a moderate correlation with the scores of strategic mindsets in the assessment center. The evidence of this research showed that using Weyhrauch (2017) conceptual model and using the situational judgment method can well measure the strategic mindset of managers and potentially, it is a suitable starting point for designing educational and developmental interventions of human capital in this field.
