The effect of collaborative learning on teacher-student relationship, psychological disturbance and students' achievement goals

Abstract :

: The current research was conducted with the aim of investigating the effect of cooperative learning on the teacher-student relationship, psychological disturbance and students' progress goals. Method: The research method was quasi-experimental (pre-test-post-test with control group). The statistical population included all seventh grade male students of the first year of Isfahan schools in the academic year 2022-2023, from which 50 people (25 people in the experimental group and 25 people in the control group) were selected as a statistical sample. In order to collect data related to each of the variables, the research tools were the teacher-student relationship questionnaires of Murray and Zivach (2011), Kessler's psychological disturbance (2002), Middleton and Migley's (1997) progress goals, and also to hold cooperative learning sessions using the method A jigsaw was used. Results: The results showed that collaborative learning has a significant positive effect on improving the teacher-student relationship (F=4.671, P=0.036), but on psychological disturbance (F=0.055, P=0.816) and progress goals. (F=1.414, P=0.240) No significant difference was found. Conclusion: Based on the results, it can be said that by using the collaborative learning process, schools can provide the necessary ground to improve the teacher-student relationship and more research is needed on the other two variables.
