Methods of Characterization in Deer Dream novel

Abstract :
Abstract Aristotle first analyzed the character and mentioned its characteristics. The character is one of the main elements of the story without which the creation of the story is not possible. Mohammad Hanif is one of the contemporary style novelists who has left outstanding works. In his novels, he paid special attention to the character element and was able to create influential and valuable characters. The characters are tangible, real and all taken from the heart of people's lives. The Deer Dream is one of his long and influential novels in which the author depicts the tow themes of politics and love. The author has tried to achieve a variety of Characterization methods in this story through descriptive- analytical methods. The research findings indicate that the author is familiar with different methods of characterization and has used each one according to the situation, environment and the space of the story. It has used direct characterization such as description and simile and indirect characterization such as behavior, speech, name, appearance and environment. In this novel, we are faced with variety of main, sub-main, static, dynamic, simple and comprehensive characters and they act and move according to the circumstances of the story, in a way that connects the events of the story with cause and effect relationships and they have created a coherent connection between the character and other elements of the story.
