Abstract :
Background and Objective: The most important step to provide a suitable solution to improve the quality of life in the urban environment is to evaluate the current state of the quality of life index. The purpose of this study is to search for the best places with the highest quality of life, focusing on environmental indicators in region 6 of Tehran.
Material and Methodology: The quality of life index in the 6th region of Tehran was evaluated under the MCDM approach with 17 sub-indices in the form of 3 indicators, environmental, safety and health, and facilities and transportation. The standardization of layers was done by the fuzzy method. Index ranking was done by ANP method. The final map in 2023 of the quality of life of was obtained in 5 levels by overlay method based on the formula.
Findings: The results showed that the environmental indices had the highest weight among the main indices of the quality of urban life. In this group, the sub-indices of air pollution, parks and gardens, and noise pollution have the highest index weight. The analysis of the classification map of the quality of life of region 6 showed that more than 65% of the region has medium and low quality of life.
Discussion and Conclusion: More southern areas such as Tehran University, Shariati, Iranshahr, west Keshavarz, Valiasr-Engelab Square and Nusrat lack high quality areas. The district with the largest area of high quality of life, Jahad, Yusef abad, Shiraz, and Abbas abad, are located in the northern and central half of the region. The final map can be effectively used for formulating management strategies and urban management planning, protecting and restoring the region's environment.
