Abstract :
eedback on clinical education in the midwifery program at the university is carried out through the continuous assessment of an electronic logbook, which has replaced the paper-based version. However, this system has not yet been implemented at the Islamic Azad University. With the establishment of the electronic logbook in this university, the researcher developed its model for the first time.The study employed a mixed-methods design (qualitative and quantitative), and the research domain included clinical education in the Bachelor of Midwifery program. In the qualitative phase, a systematic grounded theory approach was used, involving open, axial, and selective coding. Participants consisted of all nine members of the strategic council of the program, and data collection was conducted through semi-structured interviews.The quantitative phase followed a causal-correlational design. The study population included 7,332 undergraduate midwifery students enrolled in 2023, from whom 831 students were selected using cluster-stratified random sampling. They completed a researcher-developed 20-item questionnaire based on a Likert scale. Data were analyzed through micro-analysis, axial and selective coding, leading to the extraction of the main conceptual categories of the model. Statistical analyses included descriptive and inferential statistics as well as structural equation modeling.The findings indicated that most fit indices showed an acceptable and desirable level, suggesting that the proposed model is reliable and adequately supported by the data. The factor structure of the indicators was confirmed, and the model can therefore be considered valid, applicable for interpreting results, and suitable for hypothesis testing. The electronic logbook, as a standard tool, can be applied in the continuous assessment of clinical education in the field of midwifery.
