Abstract :
Introduction: The aim of the present study was to compare the effectiveness of transemotional therapy, narrative therapy, and imago therapy on forgiveness in conflicted married women. Method: The method of the present study was a semi-experimental study with a pre-test-post-test design and a control group with a three-month follow-up period. The statistical population of the study included married women with marital conflicts referring to Islamic counseling centers in Garmsar in 2022, of which 60 people were voluntarily selected and randomly assigned to three experimental groups and one control group. The instrument of this study for data collection was Pollard's Interpersonal Forgiveness Scale (1998). Educational intervention packages based on Gottman's meta-emotion approach (2011), O'Hanlon's narrative therapy (1994), and Hendrix's imago therapy (2015) were implemented in 8 sessions 90-minute once a week in groups for the first, second, and third experimental groups. The data were analyzed using mixed analysis of variance and Bonferroni post hoc test. Results: The results of analysis of variance showed that there was a significant difference between the groups in post-test and follow-up forgiveness (P<0.05). The results also showed that there was a significant difference between the three treatments and imago therapy was significantly more effective than metaemotional and narrative therapy on forgiveness in conflicting married women (P<0.05). Conclusion: Therefore, it can be concluded that imago therapy can be used as a supportive treatment on forgiveness in conflicting married women.
