The Concepts of International Law in the Context of Kant's Sustainable Peace, Examined Through a Comparative Lens with Islamic Law

Abstract :

In Kant's vision for achieving sustainable peace, there are six prerequisites, three primary conditions, and a guarantee that their realization can be achieved. The purpose of these conditions is to help humanity achieve sustainable peace by establishing a republican system, a federation of Free states, and a global city at three levels: national, international, and global. Examining contemporary international law reveals both direct and indirect influences of this idea within the framework of international legal systems such as, international organizations, the United Nations Charter, international treaties, disarmament efforts, and the maintenance of peace, all while upholding the principle of justice. The purpose of this writing is to assess how much Kant's concept of sustainable peace is being used in today's world. Using a comparative lens, some Islamic concepts have been examined alongside the principles of sustainable peace. The findings reveal both subtle similarities in their manifestations and profound differences in their fundamental principles. The objective and conditions of Kant's concept of sustainable peace are examined through a descriptive-analytical approach in this writing, along with the similarities and differences between these principles and Islamic tenets.
