Abstract
Introduction: This study was conducted with the aim of providing a model of the antecedents and consequences of the leadership of adaptive mentality in the Social Internet of Things. The present research is of the type of mixed exploratory research projects.
Method: In this regard, first, using the qualitative approach, the dimensions, components and indicators of adaptive mentality in the Social Internet of Things were identified and the initial research model was designed. Then, using interpretive structural modeling, the themes were leveled. In the next step, based on the obtained information, the model was validated (quantitative approach). The statistical sample in the qualitative section included 15 experts, including university professors and information technology specialists, who were selected in a non-random and snowball method. The statistical sample in the quantitative section included 164 managers and employees of information technology companies in the city. It was Tehran. Data analysis was done in the qualitative part with thematic analysis method and MaxQda software, and in the quantitative part with three interpretive structural modeling methods, hierarchical analysis process and partial least squares technique.
Results: Based on the results obtained from the qualitative analysis, strategic thinking, transformational leadership, environmental scanning and mindfulness were identified as the antecedents of adaptive mentality leadership in the Internet of Social Objects. Also, themes including institutionalization of digital culture, intra-organizational communication, digital alignment, reduction of employee resistance and organizational flexibility were identified as the consequences of adaptive mentality leadership in the Internet of Social Things.
Discussion: The results obtained from interpretative structural modeling showed that digital alignment variables, reducing employee resistance and organizational flexibility at the first level; Intra-organizational communication and digital culture at the second level; transformationism at the third level; environmental scanning and strategic thinking at the fourth level; And mindfulness is on the fifth level. The results of the quantitative part, while confirming the research hypotheses, showed that the proposed model has good validity.
Finally, the prioritization of the criteria with the hierarchical analysis process technique showed that the criterion of mindfulness is the most important; Digital alignment, strategic thinking, environmental scanning, intra-organizational communication, organizational flexibility, transformationalism, digital culture, and reducing employee resistance were ranked second to ninth, respectively.
