Abstract :
Considering its climatic, historical and cultural diversity, Iran has significant capacities for the development of ecotourism, which can be used as a stimulus for regional development and improvement of the local economy. In this article, the potentials of ecotourism in Iran are examined from the perspective of natural features, cultural attractions and infrastructure capacities, and its role in strengthening regional sustainable development is analyzed. The results show that by taking advantage of rare natural resources, such as Hyrcanian forests, vast deserts, and diverse wildlife habitats, along with appropriate investment in education, tourism infrastructure, and the participation of local communities, ecotourism can be used as an efficient tool to reduce regional inequalities and Improving the livelihood of the benefited residents. In the end, practical solutions for improving the management of natural resources, sustainable development of infrastructure and increasing the awareness of the local community and tourists have been presented, which can contribute to balanced economic, social and environmental growth in Iran.
