Investigating the influence of personality and gender variables of managers in evaluating the performance of Saderat Zahedan Bank employees

Abstract :

Performance evaluation is one of the most important management processes that plays an important role in planning, development, and decision-making in organizations. Various variables influence the evaluation of employees' performance, including the personality and gender characteristics of managers. The purpose of this research was to investigate the effect of personality and gender variables of managers in evaluating the performance of Zahedan Bank Saderat employees. For this purpose, a survey method was used. The statistical population of the research is all the employees of Saderat Zahedan Bank, numbering 110 people. To determine the sample size through Morgan's table, 86 people were selected as the research sample. The method of collecting information was library and field studies, and the tool used in the field method was a questionnaire. Neo's model (2004) has been used to examine and measure personality variables, which has the dimensions of extroversion, openness, agreeableness, and responsibility. Safa and Adibi model (2015) was used to measure the gender variables and Parker model (2000) was used to evaluate the performance. The content validity of the questionnaires was confirmed through the evaluation of professors and experts, and Cronbach's alpha test was used to measure the reliability. It has been used that for the personality variable questionnaire, 0.895, gender variable 0.795 and performance evaluation 0.905 were calculated and confirmed. Linear regression test was used to analyze the data. The software used to perform this test was SPSS. The findings of the research showed that personality traits (extroversion, openness, agreeableness, responsibility) and gender variable have a positive and significant effect on the evaluation of Zahedan Export Bank employees' performance. Managers should be aware of the impact of these factors on employee performance evaluation and try to maximize these factors in employee performance evaluation.
