Examining the visual schemas of the conceptual metaphor "sorrow" in Foroughi Bastami's poems

Abstract :

The use of conceptual metaphor in literary texts causes abstract elements to become concrete in a special way, this has a significant effect in Foroughi Bastami's poems, one of these mental categories is the concept of "sorrow". which the poet in question always uses in various schemes. Therefore, this research is devoted to the systematic analysis of the conceptual metaphor of "sorrow" in Foroughi's poems using the analytical descriptive method and based on library studies. Investigations show that Foroughi Bastami has used animistic schemas, idealistic elements and natural phenomena to visualize the concept of grief to interpret his physical experiences for the audience. Foroughi Bastami, with a special look at "sadness", introduces it as an important factor for most of the events in his life, and the relatively high frequency of this is very evident in his poems. He has also used "sadness" as an element of food, place and dish. Therefore, it can be said that the objectification of mental affairs in Foroughi Bastami's poems has been done according to his special attitude.
