Abstract :
This paper is a report of a study conducted to evaluate the implemented curriculum for the social studies lesson. This descriptive survey study drew on a sample of 165 teachers of social studies selected out of a sampling frame of 275 teachers in Gilan province using cluster sampling method. A use was made of a 28-item questionnaire developed by the current researchers whose content validity was assessed on the basis of specialists' and teachers' point of view. Further, its reliability was estimated to be 0.82 using Cronbach's Alpha. Statistical analysis of the data, descriptive and inferential (Chi square), pointed to the following findings: - The implemented curriculum for the social studies lesson was consistent with the educational system objectives. - It provided the required facilitates and conditions for students to a small extent. - It took into consideration the individual differences to a small extent. - It noted students' educational achievement. - And finally, it achieved a little effectiveness and needed remedial activities.
