Interpretation of the living symbols of the soul in Rumi's Rubaiyat

Abstract :
Interpretation means returning to the original. The principle of something or the principle of the meaning of the text under investigation. Therefore, from the very beginning, the question arises whether the text has an original and single meaning that should be received and shown to others? In the past, the answer to this question was positive. But later, believing in the uncertainty of meaning, it gave its place to the relativity of meaning. In this way, the signs or signifiers of the text, which previously indicated a specific meaning, became concepts with many real and virtual examples. Undoubtedly, this metamorphosis, although it is seen everywhereIt varies from text to text. Meanwhile, mystical texts show the most talent for this relativism and interpretation. Because in these texts, neither enlightened perceptions can be argued, nor the language that is supposed to report them is under the burden of reasoning and certainty. Therefore, any meaning in these texts is possible with the interpretation of symbols. This feature of mystical texts can be seen more than anywhere else in the Masnavi and especially in the Ghazalyat of Shams, and it continues in the quatrains on a more limited level. Investigating the ability to interpret the symbolic signs of living nature is the subject of this article. The research data are library and documents that have been analyzed and described by qualitative research method. .
