Abstract :
This study examined the psychometric adequacy of Self- Compassion Scale (SCS) among Iranian students. First, a self- compassion questionnaire was translated by two postgraduate students and an associate professor reviewed the corrected Persian form. Finally, it was edited by 30 postgraduate students. After removing the defects, it was used for 619 university students of Islamic Azad- Fars Branch, Islamic Azad University- Shiraz -Branch, Islamic Azad University, Science and Research-Yasooj Branch, and Islamic Azad University Yassouj Branch. Sampling was conducted on volunteer availability. Exploratory factor analysis, finding a six -factor structure of the questionnaire, yielded six factors. The Cronbach Alpha for the scale was 0.86. Overall, self- compassion scale reliability and validity coefficients were regarded Azad being satisfactory. Thus from a homogeneous set of 26 questions that constitute the factor structure was appropriate and eligible for psychological research and clinical diagnostic activities.
