Meta-analysis of the effectiveness of different treatment methods on students test anxiety in Iran

Abstract :
Test anxiety of students is one of the most common anxiety that people encounter during their studies, and their performance will be affected by it. Different treatment methods used by researchers for reducing anxiety. The aim of this meta-analysis studies on the impact of treatment methods to reduce students test anxiety. Hunter and Schmidt were used for meta-analysis approach. Of the 55 studies identified, 37 study were analyzed. Given that some studies had used several variables or intervention, several times in the meta-analysis was conducted, which eventually yielded 33 effect sizes of the studies. The results showed that, behavioral, cognitive and effective combination methods in treating test anxiety. The combination therapy with effect size is 41/1, the alpha level less than 001/0 is meaningful, therefore more effective than other methods of assessing the screw. The findings can be helpful for researchers in studying in the field of treatment test anxiety.
