Abstract :
Abstract The aim of present study was collecting and analyzing elementary school teachers' oral questions in Sama schools of Islamic Azad University in district five. For this purpose the teaching processes of 32 teachers (20 women and 12 men) in four grades (grades two, three, four and five) in five cities were recorded by means of MP3 player. The recordings included the subjects of Persian, Mathematics and Science for ten sessions. Inverse questionnaire and rating scale were used for extraction of collected information. Data were analyzed by descriptive methods and chi square test. The result of the analysis of 960 sessions and 11617 explains with reverse questionnaire and rating scale shows that: The relation between grades of education and the reason of explaining was statistically significant. Also the relation between reason of explaining and types of subjects and explaining approach and grades of education were significant. Teachers prefer to explain concept training, goals and targets, outcomes, cause and effect, process and methods. Teachers, using the modern and complex approach of explaining by increasing the grades of education. The weakness points of teachers in explaining were include: clarity of introduction, suitable sentences structure, enough concrete examples, suitable silences, giving direction verbal clues, using suitable material and educational media, clarity of explaining approach, gradually summarizing subjects, changing the speed of talking or level of subject, and review of students ‘participate in arguments. Due to the importance of explaining, more attention should be paid to this subject in teacher training and in –service training courses.
