Identification and Analysis of Influencing Key Factors On Strategic Thinking as a Core Competency in Organization

Abstract :
Strategic thinking plays a very important role in continuity, survival and progress in today's changing and dynamic environment. Strategic thinking is also a tool that helps managers to create a new opportunity. The role of managers in the process of strategic planning and decision-making depends on their thinking way, and the strategic planning frameworks only provide questions that are based on the methodology of managers and their thinking in decision making. The purpose of this study is to identify and analyze the key factors affecting on strategic thinking as a core competency in the organization. In this research, firstly based on literature review, 23 key factors (competencies) of strategic thinking were determined, then a questionnaire distributed to professors and experts in relevant field and their views on the key factors or adding other key factors, have questioned which ultimately 8 key factor were identified. After identifying final key factors, their effects and interrelationships questioned form professors and experts through another questionnaire. At the end, using an integrated method including Grey system theory and DEMATEL technique, the data analyzing was accomplished. The results show that the level of effectiveness, impressionability and interaction of factors and grouping them is on cause and effect factors.
