The Relationship between Emotional Intelligence and Organizational Success Using Mental Health on the Staff of UTM University Malaysia

Abstract :
The aim of the present study was to investigate the relationship between emotional intelligence and organizational success using employees' mental health. For this purpose, a number of 450 individuals (400 male and 50 female) from the employees of Malaysian universities were selected through a stepwise random sampling method. In order to collect the data, the standard questionnaire of emotional intelligence and a researcher-made scale for organizational success were utilized. The validity of the questionnaires was confirmed using the content, structure and form method, and the reliability of the measurement was confirmed as 0.87 using the Cronbach's alpha. Structural equation modeling via PLS3 and SPSS were employed to analyze the collected data. The findings of this study indicated that there is a relationship between emotional intelligence and organizational success.
