Abstract :
AbstractMan is a civil being by nature, and this undeniable nature of human beings, if devised on a proper basis, will provide the common good. How to live together requires pattern design, and one of the most prominent patterns of collective living that has long existed in Western societies is civil society. The localization of civil society has been experienced in the social and political spheres of different countries. On the other hand, based on the Islamic worldview, religious democracy has been recommended as a progressive model of social life. Naturally, the idea of an Islamic rival is based on the combination of the will of the citizens with the basic Islamic considerations. One of the main sources of recent considerations should undoubtedly be sought in Islamic jurisprudence. A significant part of jurisprudential injunctions can affect the collective life of human beings. However, in this comparative study, the author intends to address the recommendations on which religious democracy is based. In this regard, the study of rival Islamic-Western models from the perspective of jurisprudential foundations justifying the Islamic model and criticizing the Western model has been done. This jurisprudential overview aims to illustrate a defensible model of social life in political society by stating the principles, indicators, and goals of religious democracy, in addition to clarifying the distinctions between civil society and religious democracy. Through this study, questions related to the structural differences between civil society and religious democracy will be answered and their relationship will be analyzed.
